Our learners are wonderfully Autistic. They are bright and inquisitive. Their only difference is a need for understanding and help with communication. These students experience triggers and frustrations that other learners do not. Our goal is to provide an individualized space for our Autistic learners to cool down, regroup and refocus to return to the group. This process not only assist us with specific behaviors, but aids us in calming the entire group. Their worlds are so complicated. We just want to provide small respite periods to help them navigate the learning experience.
