Children's vocabulary skills are linked to their economic backgrounds. By 3 years of age, there is a 30 million word gap between children from the wealthiest and poorest families. A recent study shows that the vocabulary gap is evident in toddlers. The word gap refers to children whose lack of vocabulary significantly affects their learning and, as a result, their future life chances. With help from donors we can do our best to bridge this gap as much as possible and give children from low income households a better chance.
