The materials I chose for my classroom will help my students further develop their sense of self while also opening their minds to the beauty of others. These materials are largely focused on social emotional growth, providing new vocabulary to their feelings, new tools to their conflicts and new self calming techniques. These materials aimed at diversity, inclusion and empathy will build upon and improve the peace education I currently use. The second category of my project focuses on opening the child's mind to the wider world and engaging their natural sense of wonder. I have chosen multiple biology and geography resources to expand their knowledge and understanding of their physical bodies, the lives of other living things and the planet. These resources will be used at school but what they gain will certainly go home with them!
