The past few years have been a challenge for these third-grade students because their last “normal” year was kindergarten. These students have lost out on plenty both academically and socially/emotionally. Now that we are back to some normalcy students still need to close some of the gaps due to the result of COVID 19. This includes getting back to working in teams or partners, taking responsibility for their space and their learning, and being able to wiggle or access flexible seating for conditions they aren’t normally used to. With the addition of these items into my classroom I think students will be able to “return to normal”. SEL Competencies - Self awareness and self management
