We will use the ukuleles in our classroom and to start an after school Ukulele Club. The students will have the great joy of learning an instrument! All of the students involved will be able to play songs by the end of this year's project. In addition, we will use ukes with our choir, and the Uke Club will feature in our concerts and in our families homes for singalongs and holidays! Research strongly suggests that music aptitude becomes much more rigid as students get out of their elementary school years; therefore, elementary school is the perfect time! Our students will all be able to say that they learned an instrument and the ukulele is the perfect instrumental gateway to the string family and a wonderful music life! It's also accessible and inclusive, and we have a great team of teachers here who will ensure that we get maximum joy out of these!
