These materials will be used in our classroom for independent work stations. Our goal for our Life Skills students is to live independent, successful lives. Our students who have Autism thrive on routine, and work completion. Having ample resources that will be meaningful to their daily lives will help our days run smoother and create authentic learning experiences for our students. For example, the kitchen set will help our students learn cutting skills, matching fruit, and even sorting food by color. Our students also may have a lot of sensory needs, so items like the water beads, and foam paint will help us create reinforcing break times that meet all of their needs. Having sensory time helps our students self regulate and get into a calm learning zone. All of these items will be used by many students throughout the day to work on many domains. These items will help our grow in fine motor, literacy, math, social skills, independent skills and more!
