My students have not been exposed to a normal school year and have been restricted to more hands-on learning. We are making lots of modifications so students are able to learn through hands-on activities. Due to Covid, I want to provide them with the best experience possible. Since my students have to limit how much they share materials, I am in need of tablets and supplies to make centers for students. Tablets will allow my students to access more resources that are differentiated to their learning and they can learn at their own pace. Students will be able to explore books, listen to stories to aid in their comprehension and language usage, expose them to more literary genres, and allow them to take virtual field trips to help them explore various cultures, which will support our Social Studies standards, as well as the diverse cultures of my students. (Standards this project will support: L.K.6, RI.K.10, RL.K.10, RL.K.2, RL.K.3, RL.K.5, SS.K.9, SS.K.12, SS.K.13). I am also requesting flexible seating for my students. In the classroom we are constantly sanitizing and wiping down our seats, I am in need of a surface that is easy to wipe off. Due to COVID, they have to stay in their seats most of the day; however flexible seating allows differentiation for those students who struggle to sit in a standard chair all day. It also offers excitement and promotes engagement in students if they are allowed to pick a seat that they find comfortable.
