The books, electronics, and classroom supplies I am requesting for my students will allow them to become more comfortable in the classroom and give them learning opportunities to analyze text material outside of what is being taught already in the classroom. The books will be used for independent reading throughout the year. The whiteboards will be used for group work to help formulate ideas and show the rest of the class. All of the classroom supplies will be used for projects throughout the year for my students. The DVD player and movies will be for my film class as we currently do not have a DVD player. The laminator will be for students' paper material that they can write on and erase with markers. The donations to this project will help my students improve my students reading standards and many other standards as well some are listed below. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.11-12.2 Determine two or more themes or central ideas of a text and analyze their development over the course of the text, including how they interact and build on one another to produce a complex account; provide an objective summary of the text. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.11-12.4 Determine the meaning of words and phrases as they are used in the text, including figurative and connotative meanings; analyze the impact of specific word choices on meaning and tone, including words with multiple meanings or language that is particularly fresh, engaging, or beautiful. (Include Shakespeare as well as other authors.) CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.L.11-12.5 Demonstrate understanding of figurative language, word relationships, and nuances in word meanings. All of this material will help my students succeed in and out of the classroom and make their year back from Covid a great year! Thank you.
