Our students need to be bussed to areas that have museums focusing on the engineering and science standards. With COVID students are not traveling for the opportunities to explore the science and engineering fields. Students learning to solve problems and participating in hands-on learning opportunities was unavailable for many students during the past year with many schools being closed. Students lost the time needed to explore solutions to real world problems. This project focuses on the science and engineering standards in the second grade: NGSS 2-ESS2-1, NGSS 2PS1-3, and NGSS k-2ETS1-3. The academic reading and real world experiences encourage students to challenge themselves and develop strategies to solve problems.
