Our sustained silent reading project has inspired many of my outstanding students to fall in love with reading again. The transition from middle to high school often leaves students to put reading on the back burner, and with this project, I can foster that love of reading to keep the spark burning. My students chose the books listed in this project, and they included their favorite authors. The students will check these books out to read during silent periods in class and at home, which will improve their vocabulary, grammar skills, and comprehension. The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.
