Today many children believe that playing a game or interacting with others while playing a game means you get on a device and play video games while chatting, and that is the only option. In an effort to help school feel more like a "family" while interacting face to face and hopefully increasing cognitive skills along the way this project will bring a little something special to many of my students. An added benefit may also be that some of these kids will want to actually have some time at home to play board games like they are at school. Board games will be a great learning opportunity while also promoting positive interaction among my students. As a business teacher I can teach the middle school students how to operate their devices and create great things with them. I try to also teach some social skills with my lessons but with these games they will have to interact, follow rules, learn strategies, and much more without being on a computer.
