I teach environmental science and with COVID restrictions and current financial restrictions due to our communities impact from Hurricane Ida there is no ability to bring my students on field trips to help provide them with experiences that allow them to better understand the diversity of environments on our planet. I would like to create small representations of the three major terrestrial environments (tropical rainforest, temperate forest, and desert) so my students can better visualize these environments and some of the organisms they contain. My experience as a professional zoologist working at two different aquariums and a zoo prior to becoming a teacher will allow me to provide these habitats in both an accurate manner and provide proper care for the organisms we house in these model environments. If this project is funded I can provide the remaining materials and organisms to make these environments true representations of these environments.
