The first use I have for the tablets will be as centers to reinforce small and whole group learning of reading and math skills. (RF.K.1-4, K.CC, K.OA, K.NBT) I will use Starfall and PBS resources and Reading A-Z as well as materials created for Google classroom to reinforce student learning and assess student progress in these areas. I will also use the tablets to support small group discussion related to informational text. (RI.K.1-4, 10) The next use I have for the tablets is a means to connect parents with what is happening in the classroom. COVID has made it so parents can not enter the school. We cannot have parent volunteers or even visits to the classroom. We use Class DoJo to communicate with families. I want my students to use the tablets and the Portfolio feature of DoJo to connect their parents to what the student is doing in the classroom. The hope is to build a digital community for the school and families since we can not have a physical connection.
