We are back to in-person learning and ready to read from REAL books every day. Fourth grade is a year where students focus on longer chapter books, so motivating them to stay engaged or even start a longer text can be tough-especially for boys and students who struggle to comprehend more challenging text. In order to get my fourth graders excited about reading I want to host a "Book Tasting" activity in which they can sample a wide variety of new and exciting literature to see what fits their palette. It has been a long time since I've been able to add new chapter books to my collection and it's looking a little sad these days. I want to set up "cafe" tables with tasting menus, book marks and note-taking napkins. This project will be a fun and exciting way to "devour" some new books.
