I am currently teaching students through virtual programs and classrooms at 100% capacity. Although I invested in a quality MacBook Air just over two years ago, most of my students are using Chromebooks so we have compatibility issues. Frequently, my students will complain that my mic is hard to hear or that the extension I have to use to run one of the school-based apps (most school apps are Chromebook-based) creates a lag time. I frequently have to use an extension to run programs that are not Apple-based. When I purchased my computer, I was not teaching virtually and so I did not choose a laptop that best facilitated fun, engaging, and interactive lessons with a class of students who had been issued Chromebooks. With all of the amazing online learning tools, my students would benefit if I had technology that interacted seamlessly with the learning apps they are using, as well as offered better viewing and sound options since I share my screen frequently throughout each day.
