The students in my music classes love to play the ukuleles. They are a stringed instrument that can be easily taught to 3rd and 4th graders with small fingers. It requires hands on instruction to learn, which is very engaging. At the moment, the classroom set of ukuleles I have in my music room are covered by a thin black plastic gig bag meant to last a small duration of time for one person. After 2 months of passing each ukulele out 3 times day, 5 days out of the week. The bags are getting worn out. Zippers are breaking and seams are ripping when they get caught on the tuning knobs, or plastic/nylon string ends that are sticking out. We love our kids, and we know that when an object is used by a child over and over again, it tends to wear out very quickly. Receiving new quality cases will help preserve and protect the ukuleles for many more years from the bumping, dropping, scraping, and constant use from the students. And if a ukulele needs to go home with a student for extra practice, it will ease our minds that it has a better chance of coming back in good shape. We also enjoy many performances. The kazoos will aid in added entertainment with the songs being sung in the second grade performance with the song "Bees are Buzzing". The printer is great addition to this menagerie of items to print off music from online and make extra copies in class, or print of improvisation pieces that are written and would like to be shared.
