Switch-operated devices can be used for cause/effect, incentives for work completion (what kid doesn't like to play after working hard), or for communicative intents (requesting, choosing, describing) the toy. For many of my students, typical toys are hard to hold and handle. These toys can sit on a table at eye level and the switch adaptor can be placed in a position for optimum activation by the child so that the toy can be operated. The children take such enjoyment in watching the lights and listening to the music.
