All students need a safe place to go when they are feeling overwhelmed and frustrated. Since COVID this is especially apparent, as there are many more students with social and emotional needs. I would like to provide a designated space for students that need time to de-escalate and to get back to a better state of mind that facilitates learning. I plan to create a calming space with items that are helpful for calming their bodies and minds. It is my hope that by creating a special environment for students to go, they will be able to decompress and feel more willing and able to learn.

About my class
