Motivation is the key to promoting a love of literacy in children. In addition to providing motivation in my classroom on a daily basis, I would also like to provide motivation through this project-- gifting my students with their very own first novel! Our new reading curriculum suggests a great student novel, and provides corresponding novel study activities to develop their skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening, and language. This particular novel will challenge students to be true to themselves in spite of how the world may view them, believe in the impossible, and develop and deepen their relationships with others. Sounds amazing, right? But here's the problem--WE NEED THE BOOKS!
