My students will be able to learn drumstick techniques that will help them to be able to play in a drumline or marching band. The buckets are a cost-effective way of teaching them snare drum rudiments, and something that they probably have at home. My students will learn to play together, and express themselves through improvisation! They will perform and compose rhythms, and work together to create awesome, inspiring experiences. I have chosen to work with rhythm and buckets, as it is an accessible way of teaching music, and gives my students skills that are transferable outside of class. Listening, communicating, cooperating, teamwork, following directions, are all skills that employers and colleges are desperate to find in our young people. Thank you for investing in the future of my students, and helping us to perform at our best!
