These headphones will make a huge difference in my English Language Arts classroom this year and truly help my 3rd graders master some foundational reading skills! In my classroom, we utilize technology to help support students' learning needs. I have quite a few students who are behind the 3rd grade reading level. This is largely due to loss of learning that occurred last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Along with targeted reading interventions, students in my classroom also use learning websites to help them catch up on their reading skills. We use a couple of different websites that identify what areas are missing in students' foundational reading skills and then create individualized learning paths for the students. A big part of learning how to read is through sound! If students are not able to properly hear words and sounds within words, they will continue to struggle with reading. Currently, we do not have any headphones in our classroom. This makes it hard for students to concentrate on what they are learning while using the computer. A class set of sturdy headphones would greatly help my 3rd grade scholars!
