I have recently been placed in an online teaching environment and would love to set up my students for success. Even though they all have academic struggles due to special needs that require an Individualized Education Plan (IEP), these 10th and 11th grade students show up and try their best to complete any task I throw at them. Therefore, I'd like to create the most effective home office environment as possible with basic supplies as well as some instructional materials that will enhance my knowledge of online teaching. By donating to our project, you will not only be providing supplies that will enhance my ability to teach online, but will also improve student achievement in all areas. The books requested will focus on strengthening online math instruction, promoting social emotional learning, and improving my own ability to teach online. As some of my students continue to struggle with technology, the printer would allow me to provide paper copies of lessons when they are unable to join us online. Some parents also ask me for paper copies of assignments since various students are working on handwriting goals. And the computer speakers will help me better hear my students when they participate in discussions. Some of them have speech impairments and they are difficult to understand or they speak very quietly due to feeling self-conscious about their speech difficulties.
