My School District does not offer a curriculum for Social Emotional Learning. These materials would guide lessons, small counseling groups, and individual conversations on Mindfulness, Managing Stress and Anger, Understanding Emotions, Using Coping Skills, Making and keeping friends, Getting along with others, and Building Self-esteem and Self-Confidence. As a Kindergarten through 8th grade building our students go through several challenges; including academic struggles, friendship changes, conflicts with classmates and teachers, stresses of added responsibilities at home, and trauma from living in poverty and things they are exposed to because of it.
