Since returning to the building I am trying to engage my students as much as possible. This project will enhance my students’ educational experience because they will be able to communicate with students in a way that most students don't get a chance to do. My students will benefit directly as a result of being able to communicate in an effective way with others. Students will engage other students, staff, and faculty on a regular basis, conducting interviews and other one-on-one communication. As a result of the Coronavirus pandemic, my students need practice in conversational and communication norms that they were deprived of during the pandemic times when we were all subjected to isolation in one form or another. This project will help them in this area. 1.PCE.MS.1: Investigate the impact of a variety of healthy practices and behaviors to maintain or improve personal, community, and environmental health. Also, the materials I am requesting, a camera, will nurture my students’ interest in self awareness. By understanding the feelings of other students and staff, they will be able to make connections to how and why they feel the way that they do. 1.PCE.MS.3: Connect the importance of accepting the similarities and differences of self and others as it relates to personal, community, and environmental health (without discrimination or segregation on the ground of race, color, religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, sex, gender identity or expression, per NRS 651.070). My hope is that interacting with other people through picture taking, will make a qualitative difference in the (culture/climate/instruction) in my classroom and create a group of lifelong learners.
