Our goal for Service Learning Projects is to teach the value of community involvement and social responsibility. Students given the opportunity to help their communities will build self-esteem and become more aware of the challenges and needs in their neighborhoods. “Beanies and Blankets” is our first project for the year. Students will make beanies and blankets then donate them to local shelters for those in need. Escondido can experience some very cool temperatures in the winter time which severely impacts the homeless community as well as our own students whose families face economic challenges.

About my class
