I work with students who are classified as LD and ID (Intellectually Disabled). It's difficult to give them access to virtual learning with a single screen and having a second monitor allows me to provide them visual learning experiences while maintaining control from a distance. Students in 9-12 grade have significant social-emotional and behavioral difficulties that prevent viewing laptops or computer screens individually. What works best is for a second monitor to be made available so that they can turn it around and view while I maintain control over the pages and content. Due to inappropriate behaviors, most of my students cannot be allowed access to keyboards or laptops; however, they are in need of learning experiences also, so having second monitor will allow me to share my screen via group format.
