Because I teach lessons at school and at home during COVID exclusions from all subject areas (math, language, history, science, music, & art), purchasing enough quality supplies has been challenging this year. My students like to create with clay and other materials. They have made a detailed model of a heart after receiving a circulatory system lesson, researched Ireland and created an Irish structure of clay and cardboard, and built a model of a pinball machine. I also like to have students read and know about current events. Giving students the opportunity to be creative and be informed will help them be a contributing member of the world they live in. Being creative makes the work more interesting to learn and fun to do. Knowing the news around the world is vital for children now. There are a buzz of current events happening around the world and learning about them will help their elementary minds sort through the information to possibly make a difference in society.
