After a year of the Pandemic, school is difficult for our students. By supplying each student with a whiteboard, I can keep them actively engaged in the lesson, which will promote greater understanding of the different concepts of middle school math, as well as give me an easy way to evaluate each student’s proficiency at the same time. In seventh grade students are expected to apply and extend previous understandings of operations with fractions to add, subtract, multiply, and divide rational numbers. 7.NS.A.1. These whiteboards will make this easier to do. Students who are actively engaged in their learning are more likely to take risks to improve their understanding of difficult concepts, and, in doing so, gain more confidence in their ability. Students will also be able to work on math in different parts of the room with these rolling whiteboards allowing for more flexible use of my classroom space. I will use the chart paper to create anchor charts to reinforce math concepts for my students. I am requesting the binders for my students who don't have a good binder to use at school and lose all their materials as they walk down the hallways.
