At our school, 75% of our students come from economically disadvantaged homes. Many of them have experienced trauma first-hand during their lives. To promote positive behavior, we use an exciting program called PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Systems). Through the program students earn points, which they then use to purchase items in our school store, or purchase entries for school raffles. The raffles are somewhat new and have created a ton of positive excitement for our students. They would never believe an item like this TV would be available to win at our school. In all, the purpose of this project is to support social-emotional needs of our students, by promoting positive interactions among them and other students and adults. This prize would blow their minds!
