Science must be touched, felt and experienced, not something students only learn from a book. Students excel in hands-on lessons that meet the needs of all learners. Engaging scenarios allow students to be exposed to situational thinking. This grant will fund the supplies needed to raise brook trout in the classroom and test water quality for their release. This experiential learning opportunity will benefit current and future 7th students through authentic learning experiences around anatomy and physiology, ecology, human impacts, water quality, watershed protection, and Maine’s economy. We are so excited to be able to raise trout and then release them into our local watershed.
