These resources will help promote Nevada Academic Content Standards by allowing my students to be interactive in the classroom by utilizing the post-it super sticky easel pad and the Mr. Sketch and Expo markers (RI.5.5). For student engagement, students like to use Post-it Super Sticky Notes to add their ideas on the super sticky easel pad. For example, when my class was working on cause and effect, they were given two sticky notes and had to identify what the cause and effect was in a story. After, the story, they posted their sticky notes on the easel pad. My students would be able to continue to work in groups and monitor themselves by being aware of their voice levels when collaboratively working (SL.5.1). This will promote self-regulation by being able to use the traffic light monitor and puck lights. Students will also be able to self regulate during writing by being able to identify the different parts of an essay. For example, students can use the Color Multicolor Pen (topic=red, details=blue, examples=green, conclusion=red). When students are done using the multicolored pen, they can use the Premium Pre-Sharpened pencils that will not only illuminate disruptions, but also help them get started on writing their essays. Helping my students to be more accountable and more engaged will enhance their social and emotional skills due to COVID learning. COVID learning has greatly impacted my students because they are lacking the basics of just being in a classroom. To get more students engaged and more eager to participate, I have started a treasure box. In our class treasure box, with student input, we are asking for Fidget Toy Mini Stress Relief Hand Toys Keychain Toy Bubble Wrap Pop Anxiety, Squishies Mochi Squishy Toys, Sensory Fidget Toys Set, Bouncy Ball, and Water bottle stickers.
