Capac FFA has a long-standing tradition of raising native Michigan fowl. As I took over the program I wanted to bring this project back to life. The environmental science class students are working with Norther Bobwhite quail in order to hatch and raise these chicks for local release. Our students will be striving to gain hands-on professional skills and will be working to benefit their community's ecosystems for years to come. Students will be hatching, brooding, and prepping these birds to be released in groups to local facilities that are optimal for the growth and expansion of their population. Many students had never even seen this kind of bird before this project began, now we are working to change that.
