Now that students have determined and understand their reading levels, it is dire to help them grow as readers by providing engaging texts to read. Of course students are taught the traditional texts in class as well, but changing it up to provide extra interest in learning and growing their Lexile levels is so incredibly important. Social and emotional learning is also not often touched upon enough with traditional texts; therefore, providing more modern texts helps students develop interest which results in feeling more supported as individuals. Students will be able to use these texts both inside and outside of the classroom to further develop their social and emotional development while also building upon their previously determined Lexile levels.
