Our school was damaged during Hurricane Ida and so much of the furniture and all of the motivational posters and bulletin boards were destroyed. Having these materials will enable the students to have a place to learn and read. Many of their homes were badly damaged and their school was damaged. This will bring back some normalcy into their lives. Having a bright environment will motivate the students to want to learn. These are struggling readers and having a place that is inviting and organized will help them see that reading is an adventure that can take them anywhere!
