These two books, Furia and Shoe Dog (Young Readers Edition), will be read during our second semester units in argumentative and informational writing. Furia, about a young girl in Argentina, will be used to hit informational writing standards in a unit about careers. Shoe Dog, written by the founder of Nike, will be used to meet argumentative writing standards in a unit about entrepreneurship. These are wonderful books for young people that are of high interest as well as cultural relevance. The additional classroom supplies will be used by myself and my students to facilitate education.
