Having a simple tote bag will help students keep track of all of the additional PPE they need to bring to rehearsal each day. Not only do they need to remember to bring their instruments and music, students now need to wear special instrument playing masks, cover their flute, clarinet and saxophone keys with bandanas and their trumpets and trombones with bell covers. Percussionists need to bring additional hand sanitizer to rehearsal in order to safely share sticks and mallets. While printing out a checklist has helped a little bit, I still see students trying to shove all of these items in their instrument cases, backpacks and pockets, which isn't working. I need my students to be able to adjust to this "new normal" of having to bring these items regularly and I am trying my best to make it as convenient as possible. New tote bags will help solve the problem of students forgetting various necessities and allow for a safe and successful band rehearsal. These tote bags will significantly help students keep their band materials together as they travel back and forth from home, to rehearsal, to their classrooms. If received, I plan on going the extra step and personalizing each student's bag with their name and our band program's new logo.
