I've selected materials to help my Learning Disabled students close the gap in their reading/ELA and Math levels compared to their peers. The 18-month COVID distance learning format greatly stunted the development of their basic skills. I want to use high interest tangible materials to make learning fun. I've requested books that can be sent home for students to practice reading at home that have high interest, low vocabulary levels to guarantee success. My school is considered a Title I Trauma School. Our children come from some very disjointed family situations. I want them to my classroom and know that they have one place that they can feel happy, safe, secure, and successful.
