Our school has not had a Librarian in 3 years! And all of the most popular books that students want to read (e.g. Diary of Wimpy Kid, Percy Jackson, Harry Potter) were lost during the pandemic, because they weren't able to be returned to our library, as Clark County School District was virtual for several months. I want to give our students the opportunity to read books that interest them, once again, by replacing popular book sets and adding some others (graphic novels) that our students have requested. The standards are: RL 6-8.10 "By the end of the year, read and comprehend literature, including stories, dramas, and poems, in the grades 6-8 text complexity band proficiently, with scaffolding as needed at the high end of the range."
