Currently my classroom has enough for 2 students to have an option for felxible seating. I have several students who struggle to stay still and have a need to be moving around. Upon research I have found that flexible seating is a good thing to have and for my students to get the opportunity to choose how they seat in the classroom would be awesome. I have a bouncy ball for one of my students with ADHD and they seem to focus more with it. Flexible seating will provide my little ones with more opportunities to get their wiggles out by bouncing but still being on task. It is crazy to think that we expect 5 and 6 year olds to stay still in a chair for many hours throughout the day, not even adults can do that successfully. With these options I hope to optimize my students learning and giving them a class environment where they are eager to come learn and not be so stressed that they are required to sit still in a chair for hours.
