Each year, our Key Club students host a holiday party for underprivileged children from our local community. All selected students, in grades K-5, are identified by their building principals and school social workers. Many of these children aren't able to experience the joyous holiday celebration many of us take for granted. Senior students plan a menu, shop for the food, and prepare a special lunch for the participants. During the event, students engage in activities with the children including interacting one-on-one with each of the participants while making crafts, dancing, eating the festive holiday lunch, and watching entertainment. At the end of the celebration, the high school students surprise every participant with a personalized tote of numerous gifts for the holiday season. The event concludes with the high schoolers assisting the children with their bags of treasures back to the buses. In the past twenty-five years we have aided over one hundred families and more than three thousand children. However, none of this would be possible without the help of our local community and business organizations. We weren't able to host due to Covid restrictions last year, but this year we will host two socially distanced parties so each elementary school will be able to participate. But because we wish to ensure each student has an equal celebration, we need help accomplishing everything. Therefore, we hope that you would be willing to make a monetary donation to help us continue the success of our event. Any help would be greatly appreciated and put towards what we hope will turn into a magnificent time for these children. This event leaves a lasting impact on everyone involved. Each year, several students choose to return to assist with the holiday party long after they have participated in it as a child.
