The quarantine affected my student last year because it was an incomplete ceramics class experience. Students were not able to experiment last year with glazing and underglazing. They were only able to learn techniques with clay virtually because they did not have access to the kiln. Giving my students the opportunity to decorate their pottery with these materials is important. They will witness the affects of the chemical reactions after the kiln-fire. This will give my students a unique experience that is available in the ceramic classroom. C)1.1e Create works of ceramic art using glazing techniques and processes. C)1.1f Create works of ceramic art using surface decoration techniques and processes other than glaze. (C)2.2.c Evaluate the effects of various glazes and other surface decorations to convey intended purpose.
