Constructing these roller coasters will allow students to see how mathematical functions like parabolas, exponentials, and circles are utilized to create the curvatures along the course of a roller coaster. They will be understand how the domain and range of these functions will create a piece-wise function, which will guide the construction of the coaster. This real world application of mathematics will further strengthen students' interest in the subject. It can become very difficult to comprehend how mathematics can be used in the real world, and this project mesh the two while providing the students the opportunity to utilizing their creativity in the coaster creation.

About my class
