I am requesting materials so that I can bring Science and Social Studies learning to life for my first and second graders. Specifically, I am looking to obtain fun hands-on engaging activities to teach them. To help my students learn about the basic skills needed in both subjects I am requesting books, file folder games, supplies to complete projects, and other tangible items. All of these materials will help give real-life context for learning Science and Social Studies. These games and materials will help us to connect learning in the classroom to our lives outside, and to the various books we read throughout the year. While my students have done an exceptional job so far this year, learning Science and Social Studies has not been nearly as engaging or fun as it should be. My students love to work hard, but without fun and engaging materials it is much more difficult for them to master the skills being taught. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student engagement, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
