The pandemic has created a social challenge, as many children were not immersed in a social or academic setting prior to entering 1st grade. Therefore, to foster the social development of a child and to help learn how to interact with peers, it is imperative to incorporate hands-on learning and play opportunities in the general education classroom. The products and materials I included will make a difference in my students’ learning. Fairy Tale Problem Solving Kits, Blocks Blueprint Learning Center, and I Can Build It Construction Planks will be used during science rotations where students will feel like they are playing while gaining experience to create solutions to real problems. Hands-on exploration, social/play skills, and problem solving skills can transfer to learning from home. In addition, the STEM Story pack and Solar System Activity Tub are materials that align and introduce STEAM standards (Next-Generation Science Standards). Request for other items are intended to enhance materials already provided by the WCSD. Thank you for giving my little learners this opportunity!
