There are limited numbers of low leveled readers available for use to borrow at any given time. The books that we have are old, tattered and somewhat uninteresting. Scholastic provides quality books and interesting subject matter. Books that do not interest the students will not be read as closely and are difficult to match activities with. I often hear, "I've already read that" from students because the books that we share are not new to some students. I would like to provide fresh reading materials that capture my students' interests. We also need a sturdy easel and a pencil sharpener or two would make our classroom cleaner and free from pencil shavings!
