I believe that having a Wilson School Maker Space is very influential for our students, staff and families. It allows the students to explore the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) concepts in a less restrictive environment. The Maker Space is located in a large library/music room. We have adequate table and floor space. This is especially important when following our state Coronavirus guidelines. The seeds of exploration and skills of success will move with our students from in school to their homes and beyond. The transferring of our Maker Space ideas/topics to reality in summarized with a simple example. I gave the topic of "Animals" to three second grade classrooms recently. We have very limited resources in our Maker Space, yet, the students created their own animals, food to sustain animals, ways to transport animals and living spaces for animals. All creations stemmed from a single word directive. Please support our students in being even more AMAZING!
