I love providing my students with hands-on learning opportunities. The skeletal and nervous systems are particularly difficult for students to master. Simply looking at a diagram is not sufficient for students to fully understand each articulation and attachment point or the various areas of the brain. Allowing students to interact with models allows students to engage with the system and to correctly identify the structures. Anatomy can be a difficult subject, but by providing hands-on opportunities, students have the ability to interact with the subject matter and master the content with greater ease. These models will provide these opportunities for my students by providing a model for each learning pod to use and reference as we are learning specific structures and systems. Additionally, if our district implements virtual learning, these models allow me to point out structures and better demonstrate the interactions between body systems. I am also looking to increase my personal instructional knowledge and techniques. These books allow me to do this by increasing my knowledge base and better allowing me to improve upon my instructional strategies. By increasing my knowledge base, I will be able to improve my classroom performance, which in turn, benefits my students.
