Every student has different learning styles. I want to make our class an exciting place to come learn math. Flexible seating allows them to have a choice in how they will learn best. Some have wiggles to be rid of, some like to pick a seat they won't fall asleep in, some learn when they are cozy and comfy, and some like a traditional seating. Having flexible seating allows them to take ownership of their learning. They can learn anywhere they are safe and comfortable. My students are motivated and engaged when they enter a class that is warm, inviting, and offers choices. Flexible seating promotes that. Every item I have chosen will offer a variety of seating options for them. The wobble stools allow them to have some "wiggle room" without leaving their seat. The bean bag chairs allow some to get comfy while they learn or can also be used during independent work time when they want to sit in a quiet part of the room to work. These items will help us begin a new kind of learning experience that will fit the needs of many different students all in one class! Not all good learning happens from a plain desk and chair!
