Our students often don't hear the errors in their use of language. By recording themselves they develop a critical ear to refine and improve their manner of creating sentences with appropriate vocabulary. As they improve their speaking this will translate to much improved writing ability. They will also listen to others' recording to evaluate, too. The students my check out the recorders to practice at home as needed. The translators are much needed for new to country students. They can gain confidence and reach out to the teacher and other students. It also helps them learn English on their own!
