The annual California Young Reader Medal Program offers all of our students a variety of engaging nominated books in leveled reading categories, consisting of three titles in each, totaling 12 titles. A site-created, enhanced program includes prizes for our students in completing 1-4 of these categories which encourages more reading, sharing, and collaboration between the participants. The stories most often help students identify with, or offer a look into worlds beyond their own, allowing students to reflect on ways that they could help improve and change the world. By providing several copies of each title, there there will be enough books in the program to share and rotate amongst our readers.
